Alcmena - The Mother of Hercules  |
Alcmena was the mortal mother of Hercules. She was one of Zeus' many wives. Hercules also had a God mother named Hera. She was jealous that Zeus had a son with Alcmena. So she went out to try and kill the son of the two, Hercules. She also taught him to play the lyre. Hercules was so strong that Alcmena sent him to the mountans as a sheperd because he could strangle any animals that would harm the sheep. |
